Today we were a bit talky, so rather than move into our wordles, we worked on our computer vocabulary. We worked on the following words:
mouse, screen, speakers, open, close, save, print We wrote the following sentences using the words:
mouse – input – I use my mouse to move around the screen.
screen – output – I look at the screen to see the website.
speakers – output – I turned up the volume on my computer’s speakers.
open – I will open a new file on my computer.
close – I will close the file on my computer.
I will close the webpage.
save - I will save my document on my computer.
print – I will print the picture that I drew in TuxPaint.
My goal is that we will soon be creating an icon based story where the students write a story and insert an image of the word where the word should go. Also, we will see how a return to "wordles" goes during next week's class.
Assessment
Were the seven words spelled correctly, used appropriately in the sentence, and was behavior appropriate for the classroom?
